Worried about that weather? Never fear, we have a purpose-built 150 square marquee in place to protect you from the sun, the wind and the rain!

Lawn – Marquee
Our premier event space adjacent to the Yarra with an epic view of the Melbourne CBD with fake grass and a chilled out vibe.
Plus, on the lawn we have a purpose built mega screen to watch all the action live and loud. Plus, there is a 15mx10m marquee to keep you warm and dry incase of some dodgy weather.
Lawn – Outside
In the same area as the above but outside of the marquee. We’ve covered all the tables with umbrealls but we need to say that if there is some full on weather it might be slightly uncomfortable. But it’s spring and we’re confident it’ll be all good but if not we can move you inside if there is severe weather.
Children
Whilst The Common Man is an extremely family friendly venue we do not encourage children at our Melbourne Cup Day Event. If you would like to enquire about bringing children please contact the organiser below.
Dietary Requirements
Please list any dietary requirements at the time of booking so that we can facilitate your request. Due to the nature of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to facilitate for dietary requests made on the day.
Arrival Times
Melbourne Cup Day is a reserved seating event. You may arrive any time from 10.30am, please indicate your approximate arrival time at time of booking so that we may have your dips and table ready for your arrival. Bottomless beverages will be served from 1pm until 4pm exclusively.
Bottomless Beverages
The bottomless beverages component of this event will be served from 1pm to 4pm exclusively and will apply to all attendees who have purchased our VIP package. If you are not in attendance within these times for any reason we cannot extend the times for any reason. The Common Man proudly supports responsible service of alcohol and there will be free water available. Please drink responsibly.
Joining Others?
We offer the opportunity for people to book seperately for this event. Please select a table name for your group and ensure everyone uses this group name at time of checkout. Extra points for Melbourne Cup themed names! Everyone sitting on the same table must purchase the same tickets.

Join the waiting list! For what ever reason some may cancel and we’ll get in touch to offer you the chance to attend if a cancellation occurs.
Public Holiday Surcharge
There will be a 15% public holiday surcharge that applies to anything purchased at The Common Man on Melbourne Cup Day.
Refund Policy
We will refund ticket purchases less the eventbrite fees up to 14 days prior to the event. Following this we will not be issuing any refunds however we will facilitate re-assignment of tickets.
